Default RAM Upgrade


I have a Compaq Presario with Intel 845G with Abit BD-70G motherboard with 128MB DDR SDRAM working at 266 MHz.I want to buy a new 512MB RAM.Please tell me the specification of the RAM that will work on my system.

Add a 266 Mhz module..but it will not be available..so get a 333 mHZ module..
it will work but at 266 Mhz ..

Yeah, what Samrulez said should work , sometimes it may lead to problems like
hangups.

If I add a 333MHz module,will it work with my existing 128 MB 266Mhz module.

yeah it will work with ur current RAM module but it will work underpowered and work at 266Mhz, hence u won't notice that much hike in system performance.

The max ur laptop's mobo can handle is 2GB of RAM at 333Mhz, so its better to get absolutely new modules to get enhanced performance.

Sell off ur old 128 stick & buy a new 512mb ddr @ 333mhz

i must tell you that i dont have a compaq presario laptop.i have compaq presario desktop pc.
