Re: what is ping?????
ping is a command to see wheather the remote computer is alive or not. It has the general format- ping ip/comp name. It sends a 32byte dummy packet
and waits for the acknowledgement.Every packet has a time to live(TTL)which is usually 128ms. After sending 4 successful consecutive packets, it shows the final statistics(% loss, number of packets send-received etc). you can alternatively use tracert command.
