do you have a hardcoded ip address?

which os do you have by the way?

The error is due to the fact that there is another system on the sify network is having the same ip address. Each computer on the network has to have a unique ip. Since yours is trying to duplicate the ip, your box doesn't connect on the network. If you ip is not being assigned dynamically, or even if it is, you may need to contact customer care and tell them your problem. They will be giving you instructions.

Have you paid for a dedicated IP? If not, you can't have a hard-coded IP. Your IP must be dynamically assigned each time you connect. ilugd is pretty right in what he said.

In sify, private ip is static and public ip is dynamic.
BTW, how much do u have to pay for dedicated connection? And what speeds do u get?
Thx.

Use ZoneAlarm firewall and also use Norton antivirus software. Other antiviruses
have compatibility problem with ZoneAlarm. Tell me whether yours is static or
dynamic IP? Always use dynamic IP , not static IP. This should solve your problem.
