Default *.REG files association


whenever i click on any *.reg files, it opens in notepad.
How can i chnage its association withthe registry so that value is added to the registry?

Goto: Tools -> Folder Options and in File Types tab look for REG extension.
After selecting REG extension, click on Advanced button and select Merge in the Actions section. Then click on Set Default button.

No use, it is set to open in notepad with every action.

Change the Merge command string to:

regedit.exe "%1"

well to add an entry, you could have also right clicked on the .reg file and then clicked on "Merge" ...
