Default Partitioning Problems


I have 4 partitions on my hard disk.Whenever I try to partition my E: drive it says that 'some other utilities are using this partition'.How can i partition it.All my partition are in FAT32.Also i want to know what is a 'Basic Partition'.

Tell me how are u making partition, I mean, using any third party s/w or what.

I am using the computer management tool under administrative tool in control panel
