Default How to get 750MB vcd movie in one CD

I've a video file of 700 MB in xvid format. When I tried to convert it to vcd and burn it on a regular CD of 700MB by using Nero 7, I get the message that the CD cannot accomodate the vcd, as its size will be about 750MB. Please tell me how to circumvent this problem so that I can get the compilation fit to the CD.

if ya wanna play that burnt cd in a comp, just encode it in divx fromat or else burnt it on a 90 min cd than on regular 80 min cd.

if u just wanna vie on pc, do as above. if u wanna play on a VCd player its difficult , the VCD quality is a standard one and it doesnt count MB's , it counts minutes on ur CD . there is no way of increasing the capacity of a given disc to burn a VCD ( only u can overburn ).

U can try Ashampoo Movie shrink and burn . its pretty good and fast.

If you have 700 MB of XVID movie, then I wonder you are having only 750 MB of vcd movie.

If that is coded intelligently, then it can have more than 1GB of VCD movie when reencoded into VCD.

If you want to see the movie in Computer, then just burn the XVID file on a cd (Choose data disc and not VCD)

Else, you have to burn the file on two cds of 80 mins or more.
Check the time of the xvid movie and then divide the avi file into parts by using software like VirtualDub.
And then convert them into VCD movie by ASAMPOO.

Bye

Well, I actually want to play the VCD on a stand alone VCD player. I'm thankful for your suggestions and will definitely give them a try. Please come out if there are any more good ways.

In nero, go to options -> misc. There is one option "short lead out" Enable that and it should give you about 12 MB extra on any disc. This is a really neat option, and many people dont know about it!

encode it using divx format. For this purpose you can use virtualdub and k-lite codec full pack which contain divx encoder also. download this codec pack, which is free, and in virtualdub choose divx format.

I've a Philips DVD player in my home. Will the CD in divX format be playable in such players?

No it won't play in normal DVD players. Divx DVD players (or whatever they are called) can play them.
Pl post your DVD model no. here or check on philips website if its divx player or not.

New way of burning 750MB into 1CD by super video cd option...LOL.
Its only for converting files in other formats to vcd compilant format, it will just make an ordinary vcd encoded from various formats not any SUPER vcd.
Hope its clear.

Well abhijit, u may also try 90min cds, they might accomodate ur video fully.
Although not sure of it but it should work.
