Default oracle datatype


hello there,



I am working on Oracle 9i and i m in a fix , cud tell a way to change data size .

presicely, i have a colum of datatype varchar(14), wanna change it to varchar2(40). is there a way besides re-creating it??

alter table <tablename> modify <columnname> varchar2(40);

Try this..
