I get some nice branded ones like Navtech for Rs. 14 an Moserbaer for Rs. 20. unbranded ones starts from Rs. 10 here.

dvd-r disks are mostly available in price range of 12-45 bucks. But what u dont get in the unbranded one are reliability, actual write speed and space mentioned.

My suggestion is to go with Moser-baer or Writex or Tech-com DVD disks.
got heavy pockets, then go for these:- Sony,HP,Toshiba or Mitshibushi.
Also look out for DVD dual layer disks.

dual layer is sure wate of money unless u either have lots to spare or u want to have a single disc at all costs...
300bucks for a dual layer disc...yikes!!!!

thanks all.

one small question.......

if dvd-r cost lower, offers same data space and equal reliability as well, then why should we ever buy a dvd+r media??

DVD+R is said to be much more well engineered than DVD-R and is superior in quality. But DVD-R offers more compatibility with media drives, as DVD+R sacrifies compatibility for features.

Have a look at this simple and nice tutorial by drgrudge
