Default AVG free edition


i m using AVG free edition. the problem is that whenever i open any ms office file it scans it for viruses which is not necessary. is there any way to disable this.

there must be some sort of settings which u need to modifiy.look at the settings first.

Click on AVG free edition and then click preferences.

Well, i dont think there is any such option in AVG preferences.

Why dont you just disable the Control Center? I guess thats the only way...

PS: Why would you want to disable auto-scan, especially of Ms-office files??

It slows down the openin time of Office docs and not necessary IMO...

rerun the installation file.
select add/remove components
and go on clicking next

and uncheck the check box which says office plugin for office 2000 and office XP
