SDRAM has been replaced for all new systems by the faster and cheaper DDR RAM. As to why SDRAM production has stopped, it's not profitable for manufacturers to keep on mass-producing something that's going to sell only in small quantities for replacement or upgrade of "old" computers.

Tough, but that's the way it is in the computer industry. You could try Baazee.com.

even DDR2 ram has cum out and ur askin whether the sd ram era is over,lol(no offence meant)

EDO RAM--->RDRAM---->SDRAM----->DDR RAM---->DDR2 RAM.

the problem with DDR2 ram is that due to its high latencies a 533Mhz DDR2 RAM will be equal to DDR400.

and the problem with DDR RAM is its speeds cannot go beyon 533 Mhz,due to architectural limitations.

well start seeing the actual difference between DDR and DDR2 RAM,only when the speeds of DDR2 hit 667 MHz.

In Ktm SD-RAM is in demand, people using PIII are buying 128MB SD-RAM as they can not afford to change the whole PC.

It is more expensive the DDR RAM.
PC sold around 2001-2002 only have 64MB SD-RAM, so people are
upgrading the RAM

just the information
