Computer Lags...

ok...i searched the forum couldnt find anything...if there is something i missed, pls point me 2 it...i know i had posted a similar question where i had screwed up my roomie's comp but that wsas fixed wiithout too many ppl contributing 2 the thread coz it suddenly decided 2 cure itself....but this is different...
ok this is a problem with my friend's laptop....it has really slowed down in the past few days...it is a dell xps laptop so dont worry abt the specs...top of the line...but it has significant lag...even in windows...and it gets highlighted in games like UT2004 and Halo....i tried the following:
used norton antivirus....
used antispyware programs like spybot and adaware...
defragged the hard drive and ran scan disk...

nothing worked....so i am posting his hijackthis logfile...

Move the HijackThis exe to its own dedicated folder like Program files .. This will come handy when you wanna restore the changes you made ..

To proceed with your HijackThis log, Run HijackThis again and put a CheckMark next to these entries and Click on Fix Checked.
Please make sure that all Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer windows are closed.

hmmm thanx a lot man....but im not so sure abt the last 1...it is the gamespot secure delivery system 4 downloading stuff frm their site...and wildtangent is a game system 4 AIM...spybot did remove it but wasnt able 2 remove it completely...but thanx again...i will c what happens with these changes....

Dude, apart from Checking the computer for spyware and stuff like that, try cutting downt he number of services that are run at startup.

I have mentioned a few of them below but please get yourself Adaware and let it do most of the work for you. Im sure you have hell more on that Laptop.

weekly Purge junk from ur reg/junk files using some junk cleaner like AceUtilities or Tune-Up Utilities 2004.

destructo...back web is a logitech program...controls updates and stuff 4 logitech products...and i would prefer 2 leave all antivirus programs untouched....but i think the clean up suggested by batty has worked...coz at least now my friend can play games....there is still some lag but insignificant...thanx 4 ur help guys...
