what u could try is moving the uninstall file for a program (in the programs folder). then access the add/remove program and say remove program. Theoretically it shouldn't find the uninstall and say that the program might be gone, remove the icon. That way, the program should still be there, but invisible to the add/remove.

havn't tried this...but it makes sense

Use tweaking software such as Xteq X-Setup Pro to hide the software from the list...

Use hide folders xp v2.2 (fspro labs) or winxp manager v4.96.1 (http://www.yamicsoft.com/)

download and use ccleaner to just 'remove the entry'. it will not uninstall the program. u can also rename the entry.

Open regedit and goto:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall

Here u'll see all Entries of Add/Remove programs! u can delete the particular key to remove its entry from Add/remove programs
