Default music in radio better than cd

hi,

i listen to radio everyday. I have a music collection in which most of the songs in my MP3 cd are also played in radio( radio city 91 FM). but the same songs in radio sound much better. In my collection, either the bass is too much or the vocals are too loud. they're just not right. most of the songs are this way. i've tried to adjust the bass and treble/middle settings on my hifi but still it doesnt sound right. radio on the same system sounds much better. i d/led those songs thru limewire. how to fix this?

Thats always going to be the case. You see, mp3 is a compressed format of a audio streaming.

Compressed means there's surely going to be a loss of quality. Its quality depends on how big the mp3 file is.
A 4MB file will be of lower quality than 8MB mp3.

If you're talking about internet radio, then yes, the quality seems just as original.

So, if you're ripping any music cds & dont want to compromize on quality, keep its size bigger or choose another format such as .wav

Even these guys have better system which tunes the sound to give a crisp output...You can't compare your Car audio to Radio 91 FM's system dude...

There can be 'n' number of reasons here. Severe compression of MP3s, mp3 player not using optimal equalizer settings, not very good sound card, not very good speakers connected to PC etc. etc.

i'd blame the compression. I have few mp3 files that sound better than the original cd.
