Default DVD ROM


My DVD ROM can read and play a cd disk, but it can not read a dvd disk
since a week. How can it be solved ?

upgrade ur drive driver,
nd if it's samsung then throw it out, sell it or what ever u can do, do it right now and bye any other one,
or least give it for service,

any way one question,
my CD-RW don't recognise writable cdr's so no burnning possible,
any idea.

- check ide cables , try switching them with hdd
- run cd/dvd in pio mode in device manager -> ide controller
- uninstall/remove cd/dvd from device manager and restart . it should automatically detect it again .
- check jumpers and keep it as slave or cable select
- make sure u dont keep the cd/dvd on the top most tray on the cabinet . keep it on the last but one slot to give room for air . cd/dvd's tend to heat up
- if its all in warranty , get it serviced and demand it on the same day . u paid for it u deserve the service too
