Default PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


hi brothers

guys i really have a weird problem i dont understand when ever i run chkdisk from windows it says it cannot lock the drive so do u want to schedule the chkdisk when the system restarts but when system restarts it says

"cannot open volume for direct access"
"the type of file system is NTFS"

i have 2 drives c: and d: both ntfs
operating system is windows Xp with sp2.

there must be programs or windows itself using those files that is y it says like that.
also system drive is only checked in boot-time

As already said, try Safe Mode. And also, end all the programs when u start chkdsk\f . It might be that the programs are using the drives.
