Default Choosing Allocation Unit Size

While formatting we have to choose Allocation Unit Size which ranges from 512 bytes to 64 kb.I have an Ntfs file system.

Selecting any size have same effect or diffrent effect on Hdd size ?
For normal usage which size should be choosen?

format with default allocation size i.e 4K for both fat32 and ntfs, if you choose different cluster size some defragger might not work.
