Default Black Out

After booting and when i start to work on my PC, suddenly the monitor goes black but the pc does not hang. Sometimes, during boot up itself, after the windows xp loading screen goes, it becomes black. If i force shutdown and restart again, windows gives me a error saying" Windows did not start properly, this may be due to a recent hardware or software change....." and Gives me options like Safe Mode, Last Know.... and Start Normally.

Please help me!

I checked for bad sectors, but it reported none.

As a safety precaution, jus start ur PC in SAFE MODE and uninstall the Drivers of ur Graphics Card (if u hv one) and then reinstall it and start ur PC normally.

If u do not hv a AGP card, then was there any s/ware that u recently installed on ur PC ?or any H/ware conflicts appear in ur PC ??(the last time it started normally) ??

Please post ur results and do mention ur PC Configuration to help u more, as this is an imcomplete info tat i hv so im giving u a reply.

Cheers n e-peace....

1)Check the directx version you have, upgrade to 9c
2)Install the latest graphics card drivers and see that the drivers are compatible with WinXP,type dxdiag in Start->run and bring up directx.
3)What resolution/frequency are you using?
4)Is this happening on a new PC i.e. you just bought it.If otherwise revert to the last known configuration mode

If u have any Linux Live cd use it and check whether monitor work's in it........If it fail's there also mean ur monitor life is out...........And these may also happen due to overheat....check it out...........

Default Black Out

Monitor Resolution: 1152x768, 75 hz, 32 bit.
Nvidia Driver: 81.85
The fans in my cabinet are working properly. I have checked temperatures, they don't cross 45c during gaming.

Thats odd cause its ratio comes out to be 1.5
Try 1024 by 768 or 1152 by 864 and see

Default Happens?

It happens only after my antivirus does a program update to itself. I use Avast!.

Reinstalling didn't help. Avast! is surely better than many paid AV'S like Norton and Mcafee
