There's are lotssa Encyclopedia(finally spelled right) out there.
So wats according to u is the best one.
Wikipedia,being free,hs an upperhand 4 sure,
but plz vote without price consideration.

MS Encarta 2006 Premium DVD .. it is amazing.

My vote goes to MS-Encarta . Using it since is 200 version .

You will get everything which you want with good graphics and lots of tuts and articles .

Any printed encyclopedia is outdated even before it is printed. In that way, I like wikipedia better. It has much more articles than any encyclopedia, it's free and I can add to it (almost like linux, eh?). Then there's other wiki services like wikiquote, wikimedia and google to supplement it.
Peer review has found that it contains almost similar errors compard to britannica.
