dssagent blues.....

recently windows has started running a thread in c:\windows\bsstore\dssagent.exe now this thread is a resource hogger and blogs it down to as much as 98%. what does this thread do and can i shut it down?

DSSAgent is a spyware. Have it removed asap using Antispyware software such as Lavasoft Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy... I found a removal tool at http://support.learningco.com/brodcastpatch.asp and more details from http://www.cexx.org/dssagent.htm

you have spyware buddy ..this is what i found for dssagent.exe when i googled for it,

dssagent.exe is a process authored by Broderbund and is spyware. This product pops up un-solicited advertisments as well as analyses comptuer usage, which is sent back to the companies servers. This program is a registered security risk and should be removed immediately.

get ad-aware se and spy bot .. update them and do a scan on your pc to remove all infections.
