Default scandisk blues


iam getting sick of this problem when i run chkdsk from windows it says that "chkdsk cannot be started as window is using the drive c: so u do want to schedule the chkdsk to start when system is restared??" on saying yes system restarts and shows "cannot directly access the drive" and shows welcome message and there comes my desktop

iam using windows xp
swap file is on d: drive
iam having 2 drives only c: and d: from which c: is ntfs and d: is fat32

plz help what could be the problem????

Hi.

Try to scan your D:. If its happening, you will have to reload your widows XP.

Default NO PROBS

This error occurs, since windows is loaded on c: and thus it is mounted and chdisk is unable to unmount it. So just schedule chkdisk and restart ur PC to check.

Dood how would you unmount windows and then run scandisk

Hell dis thing doesnt run even in Safe mode I tried it out rite now. It runs fine on other drives but not on c:. Try using another scanning software.
