Default Graphic Card for AutoCAD

Which Graphic card should I go for?

My requirements are word processing, surfing, gaming but not necessarily the latest and serious AutoCAD. My MOBO is Intel P4 D865GBFL.

GeForce FX 5200 (128-bit) 256 MB
ATI Radeon 9200 (128bit)
ATI Radeon 9600 (128bit)
Other, please specify

My budget is around 4K, but might increase it a little bit for a better card if it serves the purpose.

Warranty & Prices in the Mumbai region of the above cards would be helpful.

Thanks,
Shyam

I did not know, you do need one for autoCAD but how abt for decent gaming.

I am not so keen playing the latest games bcos i know tht will require a high end card, but how abt a decent graphics card which will cover me for abt a year within 5k

Thanks for your replies theraven, nikhilesh

U guys are not getting it, it's not a game, it's AutoCan, a Radeon 9600 or FX5200 will perform horrible in AutoCAD

Get a Matrox G500 or Parhalia p750, U get 2 DVI Ports, which is good, & 2 monitor setup which is a must for CAD

in NVIDIA get a Quadro NVS, that enough

Only the Parhalia 512 costs about 28K, the G500 costs 5k, while the Parhalia P750 is for 13k

Parhalia P750 is made for Autocad, in other words, Parhalia has hardware support for Autocad

Quadro NVS, the 2D workstation Quadro costs 23K

who said Quadro FX is a 2d workstation card??? Saurav i hope u know thiss nicely that 3D most games r either made over ATi Fire GL series or Quadro FX series. The quadro series and Fire GL series can really look any game even better than it looks on 6800 Ultra b'coz of 12 or even more vertex and pixel shaders and separate processors for pixel & vertex calculations.

Anyway Parhalia 750 is the correct choice 4 autocad
