Default 6200 TC How to limit sharing of RAM

I am having an Asus 6200 TC Card in A8N-E Board. If what I understand is correct, the G Card has only 64 MB memory and it uses upto 256 MB of system Ram.

I am not at all a gamer and I feel the built in 64 MB will suffice for my purposes.

So is it possible to configure (Bios) so that only the built in graphics ram is used so that I will have more avilable memory free. In the Bios I dont find any provision for that unlike the previous MBs I had used.

Hope sombody will help.

V.Prem Kumar.

i don't think so... Graphics Card does not use the system ram. what is the card memory value? if it is 64, how can you use the system ram for it?

go to the bios and look for display.... you can increase the card value there.

In the specifications it is written

"Nvidia TurboCache Technology - shares the capacity and bandwidth of dedicated video memory and dynamically available system memory for turbocharged performance and larger total graphics memory"

"Memory onboard - 64 MB"

Hope it is clear now.

And in the Bios I dont find any provision to control the shared memory.

Could you post exactly where in the BIOS did you hunt for this setting?
I am not too much familiar with the recent S-939 Mobos BIOS structure but the most common BIOS Onboard VGA Memory Sharing settings resides in Peripheral Setup Or Integrated Peripherals section and perhaps there you can find the Onboard VGA Memory Size or VGA Shared Memory Size option to reduce the size of the onboard shared Vram.

Btw If I am not mistaken dosen't the TC version of 6200(256MB) have 128MB of its dedicated RAM and shares 128MB of Max Physical Ram.
