Can the memory slot in the motherboard be changed.......i am using a p4 prescot..845gv....please help...is it costly..

Assuming that u r asking weather the RAM can be replaced/upgraded. Yes you can do it. depending on Co and Capacity u get RAM cards starting from 1200 onwards. Be careful to ensure that the speed of the new cards matches the speed of the existing sys.
