co.in Domain Registration

Hi dudes

I thought of regitering a co.in domain. Though it costs Rs.850 pa compared to .com's 350, we have lot more options.

Now the question is, can i register a co.in domain? The site says that co.in is only for companies, and individuals should choose only ind.in..

Will i have to produce any proof or if i register will i have any prob?

I think u need to show registration cert of your company and some other formalities too..

NCST does that i suppose..

Yeah, NCST is the indian registrar for all .in TLDs... You have to submit a registration certificate if you wanna register a .co.in or a .org.in domain...

We have to register our ilug-bom.org.in domain every year and i know how hardships one has to go through at NCST's office... all the formalities and RedTape makes one crazy... I'd strongly recommend you to register a .org domain if its for your personal needs...
