I CANT SURF THE NET ( PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED)........

IAM USING WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER EDITION ,I'M USING BSNL DIALUP
ISP FOR SURFING THE NET SUDDENLY I CANT BROWSE THE NET, IF I ENTER ANY SITE IN THE BROWSER (FIREFOX,IE) IT DISPLAYS THAT
PAGE CANNOT BE FOUND ,IF I RESTORE MY SYSTEM TO EARLIER
CONDITION I'M ABLE TO BROWSE THE NET !!!! I THINK MY SYSTEM IS
AFFECTED WITH SPYWARE I TRIED SPYBOT TO SEARCH THE SPYWARE
BUT STILL THE PROBLEM PERSISTS...

MY SYS CONFIG AS FOLLOWS
INTEL P4 2.60 GHZ,256 MB RAM, 845 CHIPSET MDB ,
RINNGING WINDOWS MCE......

IAM NOT USING ANY ANTIVIRUS

SO PLS HELP ME TO FIX MY PROBLEM AND ALSO SUGGEST ME

Yea I encountered this problem many a times.
The problem might be bcoz of
1. MTNL server is down
2. Virus or a trojan corrupted ur net settings

Solution
1. Try to ping ur rouer "Ping 192.168.1.1". If it gives response then its probably ur Mtnl server down. Power down ur PC completely and restart and check again!
2. It might also be ur DNS corruption go to command and type "ipconfig /flushdns","ipconfig/renew","ipconfig/release" !
3. If ping doesnt work ...then ur configuration might be corrupted!
go to command and type "ipconfig/all"....If it doesnt show any info then goto ur Net connection icon in ur network connections.Right click it and fill in the static ip gateway and alll i.e Manual configuration! Check again after restart! If it works stay with it or switch back to automatic configuration again!

Since u able to browse if revert back using system restore.I thing your modem setting must have been messed up.Else,browser could have been corrupted or infected by spyware.Also clear all the cookies,temporary internet files,etc.

For firewall use Zone Alarm..Even the basic should do and

for adware use Spybot or Adware...

any spyware should have changed your computer's host file.you should use winpatrol to revert to your original host file.that should works !
