Default For people having Quake4 startup crashes

This is for people whose Quake4 (full/demo game) crashes while loading at startup.

1. U need the minimum required configuration.
2. Update u'r system, graphics, soundcard drivers, firmware/BIOS.
3. Install latest Windows service packs, updates, patches.
4. Install Quake4 1.04 patch from Digit January '06 DVD or any other latest patch from internet.

If u Quake4 still crashes, then the problem maybe due to a dll file.

Search for openal32.dll file in u'r x:\windows or x:\windows\system32 (for WinXP) or x:\winnt or x:\winnt\system32 folder (for Win2000), make a backup copy of it & delete it from windows folder.

If it still does not run, then call idsoft or activision or search the net.

If u wanna run Quake4 in windows prior to Windows 2000 (like Win9x, Win ME, etc), then search the net for Quake4 Win9x patch/crack & follow the instructions after downloading it.

I give no guarantee for above mentioned info, solution.

U don't need to post in each and every section.

Post reported.

Not everyone visits each section.
I posted in the most visited sections for problems.

U report it, its gets deleted, I post it again.
It's as simple as that.
