Default Play avi on VCD

I have a 1.3 GB avi video file that i want to play on my VCD player. What are the best ways to do that? Also, which medium will give the best experience? Converting it into which format? I have a DVD player as well.

converting it into a DVD would be a better option, cuz if u convert it into a VCD u will definetly lose some quality.

BTW,is that file a DivX/XviD movie rip? Just curious....

Use Nero for converting and burning. First of all reduce
the size of the Video using software like 'VirtualDub'.
Bring it to 500 or 650 MB (Compress the Video)
In Nero choose -> Make a Video CD.
It will do the conversion for you . Have some patience
it's gonna take a long time!!
You can make SVCD or DVD using Nero provided that
you have the Nero Ultra Edition OEM edition with you.
Bear in mind that conversion to SVCD or DVD would take lot of System resources and time,
4 hours or more in fact.

What if i convert it into a DVD format & then load its image through Alcohol or some other software like that?
Which format should i convert it into?
Is the avi format good enough? Which is better?

I hav abt 30 GB of pure Vids and movies in DivX Format.. I tried the conversion method in Nero. For a single movie it takes abt 1 1/2 Hours to complete.

But the Output S***S. So waste of time. Then i came to knw abt 2 Giants.. VirtualDub n TMPGEnc.

These 2 does the job with ease.. same amt of time taken but the Output is same as the Original. Ther r lots of steps 2 b followd to get the original quality. But worth doin it. Now i play all the movies n SONY Player.

NOTE - All vids i made it in VideoCD Format since i dont hv a DVD Player.

..nJoy..
