Default computer not starting

when i start my comp the SMPS starts working. every thing works perfect with the cpu,but the monitor does not come on. im sure its not the monitor problem as i have checked it on another computer. also checked the hard disk and the ram on another comp, everything working just fine. when i start the comp the green light comes ON on the monitor but within seconds it changes to orange(as it is when on stand by mode).i just cant figure out whats the problem. this problem started since i tried installing fedora core which i got from the digit DVD. after finishing installing it asked to restart but never started again. please help! is it a hard ware problem or software problem. what should i do?

mmm...well, i can't see it being a software problem.....this won't hpn unless fedora core has wrecked ur BIOS n i can't see it doing tht....most likely hardware, just check ur connections.....i think the monitor's not detecting a signal, tht's why it turns on n then goes into power save mode...just chk the VGA cables, the gfx card if u hv one...take the gfx card out, clean the connector n put it back in...this solved it once when i had the same prob
