couple of questions regardings combo n dvd writer

hey guyz i have a little doubt i wanna know whats de difference between a combo and a dvd writer is combo any good?coz one of my friend is sick of it n says it totally sucks so if a combo is good which one should i get ?...and how much will it cost n what about dvd writers why r they expensive then combo?r they better than combo coz i already have a writer plz suggest me what i should go in for...

combo reads DVDs and CDs but writes only CDs
DVD writer writes to both CDs and DVDs and also reads em.

BenQ DW1640 is currently the best and is currently price d between 3000-3500

And there is no point n going for a combo, price difference is almost negligible.

There is no point to buy combo....pls don't buy it....follow shwetanshu advice!!!

a combo drive costs abt 2.5k
and u can a DVD riter for 3k
