Default weird problem


hi guys,
my fren has dual OS. he has an AMD based PC. He has a cablenet connection with dishnet in thane. the problem is when he is pinging in win 98 SE, he is getting an answer but when he is pinging in win Xp home edition, he is not geting an answer. what could be the prob..its a brand new Pc(assembled).

I think cyborg didn't get your question. He must've thought you are talking about connecting two separate PCs and sharing the internet.

Anyway, I have heard of this problem before but never got interested enough to look around for the solution. I'd suggest you to reinstall the ethernet card driver that connects the machine to the internet in windows xp. See if that solves the problem otherwise just call the ISP. Get your money's worth.

cust service is talking ****..they dont know themselves..they r saying there will be probs, but why???they dnt know..

IT might be due to a firewall perhaps.. try disabling it and ping
