Well. First tell Do u need a external; or a internal.
External can reduce ur electricity bills but cant captue shows but internal will capture but cant reduce electric bills.
Which one u want....

ofcourse u can spture wid external
i got a pinnacle pctv usb2 100e and u can capture perfectly with it
u can do everything wich u can do wid an internal
-----
internal ones r around rs.2000 a lil up n down....wid dem, u can c tv, record tv, wid sum u can hear n record FM
if dey got the supported ports, u can use them 2 record video from a camcorder or VCR and then after getting them onto ur pc, u can make vcds or dvds out of them
u can do all the same stuff wid external ones more...they dont need an external power source, its powered thru USB itself...i think u need to hav USB 2 for this...and its a lil more expensiv.
the best external one rite now is the pinnacle pctv usb2 100e...and that is around 5-6K....
both hav remotes wich perform a lot of functions
i would say u shud go for pinnacle tv tuners...dey got both internal n external
and the software they supply 2 view tv is quite good
a plus point for external is that if u got a laptop, or more than one computer, etc u can jus pik it up n connect to the other one
incase u wanna record something and ur 1st pc is full, u can attach 2 ur 2nd pc and record

So u want a internal....
I suggest
Compro Video Mate PVR/FM
or
Mercury....
As they are feature rich and winner of Digit Zero Awards.
If external
pctv usb2 100e is best...

i got a frontech tv tuner internal.

really cute remote.
doesnt offer me things substantial like pinnacle but who needs? i just need to watch tv and record.
it does pretty gud job and is the most economical.

as long as there is usb support and driver that supports windows xp, there is no need to worry abt windows xp prof. or corp or mce or an sp2 release. they wud be configured for all versions of XP.

Yeah I have this one.
And it rocks...
But...
Bundled software is disappointing. U cant watch TV in 98.
I use WinDVR to watch tv in 98.
