Default Athlon64 "Feeling" Slower


hiya....my athlon64's been running quite slow these days....and i'm feeling something's wrong with it....u kno the feeling, right? its like u kno when something's wrong with ur baby (i wldnt kno, i'm in 12th) anyway, we're denigrating. norton 2005 doesnt report anything n i'm stumped. Try posting a Hijack This log too.. its an easier way of finding troubles.. even u can find it out > http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

Try scanning ur PC/Comp for spywares also.. other than norton.. use Spybot and Ad-Aware/MS Anti-Spy

my Config is - Amd Athlon64 3200+ (Newcastle), 512 DDR RAM @ 333 Mhz, 160 GB PATA Seagate Barracuda, Geforce FX 5200 AGP, Samsung DVD-RW, Sony DVD-ROM, God-knows-what Floppy Drive , yeah mobo is Asus K8N Deluxe

check ur comp for viruses and spywares. delete unnecassary s/w and files.

You know by now how much I know....

Anyways, just to help u out...have u tried to see what starts up dyring your booting? Type "msconfig" in the run command & look under the "startup" tab to see which applications fire up during booting....Uncheck those which u dont need ( you can very well make out which ones u dont need to start during start-up).....Leave the ones which u arent sure about.....

Do the same for services which start when u boot the comp...For that enter "services.msc" in the command prompt to get a more detailed review of which services start during booting...
