maybe a lot of unnecessary processes r running in ur pc...do CTRL+ALT+DEL and select processes on top.

then go to www.processlibrary.com and see wich ones r useless and close them.

if ur toking about boot time, reduce the number of startup items by going to START>RUN and type msconfig

ur pc is slow :
ok, do this.

get a pc junk cleaner
'ccleaner' is one good freeware. www.ccleaner.com
else use 'ace utilities' or tune-up utilities or system mechanic.

get 1 good antivirus
avast - www.avast.com
or avg - www.grisoft.com
are good freeware programs.
download, install, update, run in safe mode the fist time.

u also need 2 anti-spywares
i suggest microsoft antispyware and
spywaredoctor 3.1 or adware or spybot.
download, install, update, run them in safe mode the fist time.

defrag ur registry as well as ur hard disk.

want more ?

get 'driver heavens tunexp 1.5' and use the tool.
'bootvis' and 'cacheman' will also help u.

these links will help u

Easy mate, just edit the previous post instead of posting it as a separate post from next time. These are some unsaid basic forum rules.

Hope you get the point.

neeraj,
Your HijackThis Log is clean
and you've said you defragment and clean your drive regularly too ...
So I think nothing's wrong in this respect.

but you can think of turning OFF a few unneeded services ..
there are many threads in this respect available in the forum .. try searching a few.

Dude.. dont post consecutivelly... use the EDIT button u see...

NAV 2005 hogs more memory than the 2003... if u really want norton then go for the 2006 version.. its a lot faster than 2005 and is almost as good in speeds as 2003

also.. to disable the tray agent do this :
Norton Antivirus > Options > under the Autoupdate tab (ususally the first page) uncheck the box marked Show Auto-Protect icon in tray. and save thee settings
