How do i create DVD Movie Menu

hello Ladies and Gentlemen, here i stuck again.

i have few DVDs and i have copied to my HDD. now i want to make a DVD movie disk with the Menu. i have tried with Nero Vission, but it makes a menu of that files. i want to make a menu with pictures of those movies, when i click one of that pic, the movie will starts to play, As like you have seen in original DVD Disk.

help me out. cuz i have near about 49 GBs of space with these DVD files.

i use this software Roxio DVD Builder in that u get the menu with a lil box showing a thumbnail of the video file

Use Ulead Video Studio 9 or Ulead DVD MovieFactory. Roxio is a bit slow on my PIII 933MHz machine. UVS9 superb.

i have make all the dvd images. now what i want, each dvd will contains 3 or 5 movies. when i insert the disk, the manu will show the movie name along with the poster. i will click the poster and the movie will starts to play. i don't need that extra stuff that dvd moies has like screenshoots, scene selection etc. i need a simple menu. i have tried with NERO 7 and Vission 3, but nope...

Will you please elaborate your problem? Is it that you are unable to accommodate "3 to 5" movies in a single DVD? Or anything else?

i can put 5 dvd into a single DVD9 disk. but i want to make the selection page at the startup like other movies. note that with nero, it can't locate the whole movie, e.g. harry potter 4 has 2 parts, when you created in nero, it will display 2 thumbnail, not a single thumbnail with a custom poster.

i don't know that why you guys are taking long time to understand the question. just take one DVD movie and just watch the title menu.... i want to make that one.

use "dvd lab pro" , that will get u the required thumbnail from the movie and if u want ...it can even get u a running movie for certain duration on the menu window itself.

You can always use Nero Express 3 to make menus and be sure, when you navigate to a movie, it will start that movie as you find in most of the original DVD's.

I UNDERSTAND YOUR PROBLEM BECAUSE I TOO FACED SAME PROBLEMS.
NERO IS NOT HELPFULL IN THIS CASE. MOVIE FACTORY 4 MAY SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM. I PRESUME YOU HAVE TAKEN THESE DVD MOVIES FROM DIFFERENT COMDINATION DVDs, HENCE THERE MENU DID NOT SUIT YOU AND YOU WANTED TO MAKE YOUR OWN CUSTOMISED MENU WHERE BY YOU WANTED ONLY ONE THUMBNAIL TO REPRESENT THE WHOLE MOVIE. WHICH IS NOT POSSIBLE OR PRACTICAL IN NERO.

THIS IS WAHT YOU CAN TRY ; IMPORT THE DVD FILES IN MOVIE FACTORY [REMEMBER THERE ARE DIFFERENT TABS TO IMPORT DIFFERENT TYPE OF FILES], IF A MOVIE IS HAVING MORE THAN ONE FILE, AFTER IMPORTING SELECT THOSE FILE AND JOIN VIDEO OPTION WILL BE HILIGHTED, AND JUST GO AHEAD. HERE YOU CAN ALSO HAVE SIMPLE MENUS.

OTHER OPTIONS AVAILABLE ARE YOU CAN TRY PROFESSIONAL SOFTWARES SUCH AS DVD LAB PRO, PINNACLE IMPRESSION DVD, ABODE ENCORE DVD, SONICS REEL DVD ETC. BUT THEY ARE QUITE COMPLICATED.

The best option to preserve menus while copying from different DVDs is to use Nero Recode.
Its the best software for such purpose which I've seen lately around.
But it'll only unlock if you have the Ultra Edition license.

we are not talking about preserving menues. its regarding creating own menus for dvd titles taken from vrious combination dvds. i.e. supposing you have dvd 9 with three movies with title for those three movies. you want to copy only one of them from this dvd and copy others movies from other combination dvd. thereafter you want to put them in a separate dvd with combination of your liking. in this case, preserving menu is not applicable. you have to create separate menu for your combination.

I think this is what the original post of this topic wanted to know. In this process, nero recode is only helpful, if you want to make a combination of your own without menus.

By the way, where can i get local blank dvd 9 media? If you know any place on earth where i can get blank dvd 9 media [local], please share.

Please also tell what is the cost of a good as well as a generel branded DVD9...

DVD9 from Mitsubishi costs around 300/- a piece in kolkata. Any more information about branded and/or unbranded DVD9?

For creation of menus you can use DVDRemake Pro 3. Can not create excellent menus but it works. If anybody knows anything better than this please intimate.
