Default HELP !!!!!!!SOS DVD drive problem

I have LG DVD RAM drive . HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA - 4163B

I recently bought a DVD vedio , it has a size 7.5 GB.
Sometimes my DVD drive doesnt detect it at all.
Else, it detects it and plays or rather opens only about 25 % and then it keeps reading errors or it just cant proceed , ALso it cannot read the end parts of the movie( after that 25 % nothing is read ).

It can read and write other DVD of 4.7BG and CD fine and well enough.

Why is it so ? What should i do ? its still in the warranty period.

Can u suggest me good DVD ROM and Combo drives and list out the prices of them. ?

SOS PLZ help . What should i do about this problem with drive ??

Is this the one ?
http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Revi...rticleId=12429

Its a writer then... not a ROM...

Is the disc that u say it doesnt read well, is it scratched or minorly cracked ?

Go for a writer if u wud like to upgrade... I recommend a Sony solution to it...

Then can my DVD writer play DL DVD ??

I can observe that writer rates have slashed down.
What would be the rate of DVD roms readers ?

Dude this Drive can Read and Write the Dual Layer Media's.Perhaps the source burning of the Movie DVD you received might have been corrupt hence leading to a faulty detection.Plus Come on yours is a DVD RAM drive which is not much commonly available right now.Even i doubt the presence of a good DVD RAM media out here.

Thanx a lot !
Also , i have a small problem with my LD CDROM drive.
It reads VCD and some data CD's at only 8x . Why ??
Other CD's it starts with 17x and ends in 44x.
