SATA II trouble

i have asus a8n-sli premium board, amd64 3000+, hitachi 80 gb SATA II hard disk. the problem is that the device manager shows my hard disk transfer rate as 1.5 Gbps instead of 3.0 Gbps. please help

I had the same problem with my AMD 64 3000 and A8N-E. I had posted a similar question in Digit Forum but unfortunately nobody cared to answer. Somehow I found out the solution from Hitachi web site.

By default the drives are set as SATA I eventhough it is SATA II capable. You have to use the utility called "Hitachi Feature Tool 1.99" which is available with all the details from their site.
