web design query--image before url in address bar

many sites hav an image that appears before the url in the address bar. for example, digit site
wat is the name of that image and how 2 do that?

well dude .. u can look at the source code of a site goto view>source. There in the top part you will find tags named icon. see there. Just copy that tag and insert it in ur site's code... you will see that coming now. OR, if you want to place something of ur own there.. just select ur icon.. and type in the address of that icon. DO NOT forget to upload that icon too!!!
