hey try the same cd on another system........... if it doesn't work.......the cd id faulty......... try another one........... just buying a new cd doesn't ensure that it wud work fine........... writing at faster speeds and using cheaper media can result in skiping of some files while writing........... so get the cd checked.......... if its works fine then its ur CD rom....... quite poss that its not reading the cd properly.....in that case either use a usb pen drive or take ur hardisk to a friend and copy the cd onto ur disk using his cdrom........... that may help.........

AN OS ..? or ANY OS ?
theres a diff
if its just one os then the cd doesnt have the necessary files
if the name of file cant be copied keeps changin the problem lies elsewhere

were u able to install with the VERY SAME CD earlier?

i tried from 3 different cds...but the same problem. with one cd i managed to install the O.S but with 3 dll files missing.so the system keeps on giving error msgs while using applications.... i formated my hard disk thinking its bcoz of bad sectors on hard disk but no change.

UGH
are u tryin to install the SAME os from all 3 cds ?
for eg are all 3 win xp ?
and did YOU make those 3 cds ?
then ur source has missing files
are the 3 dll files missing constant ? or do they change everytime u try to install ?
meanin does it show the SAME 3 dll files missing everytime ???

if u want ur solution answer the questiosn asked properly not half cuz no one will be able to diagnose apart from the fact that its annoying
