Default recovery dos mode...


plz tell me some recovery software through which i can boot into my system & recover files if my windows become corrupt or something like that.... it'll be good if it has Graphics interface...

Ontrack Easy recovery Pro can pretty much do it. Its got an excellent GUI and supports fat and ntfs, of course you can use a mouse.. However, it doesnt support RAID and other advanced setups

If you want something more easy to use to aid recovery, you can try out Winternals ERD commander . ERD commander is based on WinPE and thus you can get that familar windows look and feel- of course, you can run most windows programs too from ERD.

If you are lookin for a freeware alternative, then look out for recovery CDs based on BartPE. You can create your own live bootable XP (BartPE) cds, plus use standard Windows programs like GetDataBack for fat/ntfs. For more information on all this, please Google..

Hey if u use windows xp
the best thing too do is to install the windows recovery console to ur hd.
Aftr u install it it gives u a option in the startup itself.
Juss click start>run and type
D:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons
wer d is the cdrom drive letter in which u shud hav ur xp cd.
