i would like to know where u guys find all these stuff with the size limitation etc

look into the gallery @ this forum... (not sure if its still available, never visit it )

Else, look into google for small images and i am sure u will find manu

There is an "upload your avtaar" option in your profile
Just google for some image that is under the regulations vis-a-vi the size etc and paste the url in the option

firstly, u can look on google image.

also, on google web search...look for msn display pictures and u will find many cool things

well want i wanted to know was abt small gif files

not abt the resizing

or can we resize a .gif withoutloss of animation ???

check out mine... i created it by myself though i am not good with graphics... just used Macromedia fireworks.... You can get the pics grom google or anywhere else and then jazz it up as per your need and then compress it (like reducing the quality in jpg images etc) and upload it

and you are done

We edit our avatars to fit in the size limit.......

just choose ut avatar that u like....i mean a gif image... than edit it and bring down to size limit...

Consider my case... It'a an animated gif image...
It's original size was 130KiloBytes...

Used Easy Gif Editor to edit it and bring it under 10KB....

Basically a gif image is lot of images played in sequence.... so if u delete a few of them from in between...
decrease the size of images... and consequently yhe size of avatar....
But highest decrease in size that u get is from image optimization.... that reduces whatever image it is to half the size...
Easy gif editor has 4-5 optimization... remove any comments with the image... etc...etc...

u can actully make yourself in photoshop, illustrator or even simply in Paint or Paint.net 2.5, then resize to 80X80, while preserving the aspect ratio

there is nothing like creating ur own avataar.
Go to http://www.good-tutorials.com/ and chk out some photoshop tuts.

If nething impreses you... work it out!

yeah u can create an avatar in Easy gif editor too....
I have tried many gif editing softwares....

I found this one to be good.....
I dont remember where did i download it fom etc.... and which version i have...
