Default dual sided DVDs


hi

is it possible 2 use dual sided DVDs wid normal single side DVD writers? like can u burn stuff on one side then change side n burn more stuff there?

this mite b a stupid Q but i hav no idea about that

also, whats the cost of dual sided DVD-Rs and RWs ?

What you are asking is a dual-sided DVD. Yes, you can treat them as two disks. I haven't seen them at all in the market here. So I can assume that they cost more.

dual sided disks are available in the markets but it costs around 500rs ... in s.p road, bangalore...... its not worth its better to split the d.v.d into 2 disks...

Another related noob question... Can normal DVD-ROM read double layered DVDs (8.5 GB ones) ? If no, what should one look for while purchasing the drive ?

One should look for a drive that says on the package carton that the drive can read dual layer dvds. Almost all recent drives can read DL DVDs.
