I agree, or should I say I concur. Some people just don't learn, do they?

FFDSHOW
VLC Media Player
Quicktime alternative codec
Real media alternative codec

These 4 should take care of most of your playback problems.

I dont want to start any arguement here but the Klite pack does more than just playback.....
and the BS player is a great thing... when u have subtitles in another file or u have an audio log.... so i think ffdshow is great if u just wanna playback things....
but Klite mega pack is POWERFUL tool.... and once u have it installed just play everything in WMP or MPC...... no 10 alternatives required...

Yes I agree ... why do need so many installations when only I install can do ..
no need to worry about quick time n real player .. it just takecare of everything

plus

You get Bit-rate calculater & GSpot Codec Information too

So, I just use Klite Codec Pack .. n end to worries

Regards

hmm, i only use Windows Media player 10, & DivX, quicktime is essential for my work so that is also installed, this does everything for me, also NVIDIA DVD decoder for DVD Playback in WMP10

so, in total i only have 2 codecs installed

well, 2 is better then having a full codec pack,

Quicktime player is required by 3D Max, so it has to be installed

DivX 6 Codec is installed only for DVD ripping, & TV recording

NIDIA DVD decoder as these is no DVD decoder for Windows

You can also use
1. Nimo Codec pack :: http://nimo.titanesk.com/modules/fre...index.php?id=1

or
2. Xp Codec pack ::
http://www.xpcodecpack.com/

Xp is the better one i think

Well, I view vids from my PC mostly on a high res TFT or using a DLP projector. So, FFDShow is my only (free) option for superior quality scaling and other filters.

You could also apply the same principals get excellent results on a desktop monitor. Just make sure you have enough processing power.
