Default KBPS fussion


i have a fussion about kbps

i know that kbps stands for two ab@n kilobytes per second and kilobits per second.. but my fussion is started suddenly. let us asume that i'm having a internet connection @256 kbps..... what will be the output? it will be 256 kilobits or kilobytes per second?

help me out guys....

PS: i think it will be 256 kilobits... if so... can anyone tell me why it is not kilobytes.. whats the diff?

a 256 kbps connection means u can transfer data at the rate of 256 kilo bits per second i.e 32Kilo bytes per second.

kbps = kilo bits per second
kBps = kilo bytes per second
