I got a Sony Dual Layer DVD Writer last month and it costed me about 3800 bucks. As Sony DVD Writers are the best, they cost a bit more. You can have cheaper DVD Writers also, but reliability is the issue...

I am not aware of anything like "Dual Side Writer" so any writer should be able to write both sides...it is perfectly sensible...

it is actually dual layer and not dual side writer, meaning it can write on dual layered 8.5 GB DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL discs.Unlike the earlier ones, which have had support for only single layered 4.7 GB DVDs.

I got it from Raipur at Rs.3800 and must be some what less now. For about dual side, I guess all writers can write dual side DVD's as we have to literally put the DVD up side down to write on the other side. I dont think there is any DVD writer that can write on both sides of the DVD at a go without taking out the DVD and putting it again up side down.

There is no such thing as dual side writer, only dual sided DVD's.
As for dual layer writers, all writers in the market are dual layer. So just decide on which brand you want based on your budget. Any writer you buy will support dual layer DVD's.
