Default quake 4 probs :(

hey

i jus got quake 4 n i wz super excited

but now whenever i play the game it works for sometime and either it hangs and i need 2 do a hard reboot or it just closes and returns to desktop

i play on the lowest settings with evrything like shadows, etc turned off

my specs meet the requirements perfectly and my gfx card is the ATI mobility radeon 9700

on the box on the supported chipsets it says ati radeon 9700 but not mobility...does that make a diff?

i looked on the net some ppl had d same prob so dey updated dere gfx card drivers n it wz ok...but there are no updates for mine...and there have been no patches or anything released by the co.

its not pirated, n im not using any NO-CDs or trainers or anything

i even put off the network, norton, microsoft anityspyware, etc...all useless processes

and i set the laptop to the maximum performance settings with lowest power management

my virtal memory is also good enuf -700mb+
and i got lottsa space on my HDD for swap files, etc

one thing though...i have installed it on D and windows is on C (if that makes any diff tho it shouldnt)

wat do i do???

cuz u said the company of ur GPU hasnt released new drivers
so its not abt the company
its just that either u have an ati card or nVidia
and each has their set of drivers
forceware fo nVidia
and catalyst for ATI
