SQL Problem

Getting a message 'Credential retrieval error' whenever i give the user name(scott) and password(tiger) in SQL.Plz help.

when you get this msg... scott don't have too many credential, you have to give the credential from sysdba

Can u explain in details wat do i have to do?

try to login connect sys as sysdba password is either oracle or change_on_install, if you will successfull then log out and try to connect as scott/tiger.

if you are unable to login as sys also, check the services from net start. if not start the services.
