help: cant play original dvd

hello everyone.
i m a very recent member of this esteemed forum and would like some help.

prob: i live in india and visited hungary recently where i got a " friends" dvd from burger king.
It plays fine on my brothers laptop purchased in honkong but on my laptop purchased in india it reads the dvd but on playing gives an error no. 8004027D (copy protection cant be enabled) .

it doesnt play on dvd player (philips dvd 625k/692 made in malaysia) but plays in dvd player in hungary

i think its a problem of regions but dvd is being detected on laptop.i would like to play dvd in both my laptop and dvd player

also arent hungary and india in same region (region 5)?

plz if anybody can help me i would be grateful.

It most certainly is a region problem.the reason your dvd doesnt play on your dvd player is because it is locked to region 5 while the DVD is a region 2 DVD.Hungary comes under region 2.The laptop drive detects the dvd bcoz PC DVD drives can change the region 5 times.The only solution is to find the unlock codes to make ur DVD player region free.
