Default DVD - ROM Problem

I have a Samsung SD-616E DVD ROM drive. Just bought it a month ago. Works fine with all CD's and Digit DVD's.

Now the problem comes when I try to run DVD's burnt by DVD Writers, like I have this DVD of a concert given to me by my frnd who can access it on his DVD ROM, but I cannot.

I only notice this problem when I am trying to access "burnt" DVD's and NOT "pressed" DVD's.

Are there any drivers or applications that need to be installed to read these DVD's ?

I checked on the Samsung website and they do not offer any drivers. just instruction manuals.

as per the site
ur drive supports tese cd' dvd's

DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-Video, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-DA, CD-ROM/XA, Video-CD, CD-I/FMV, Photo CD, CD-TEXT, CD-EXTRA.

so if the DVD you trying to play does not come under these
no software will work
i.e it simply wont be read
