Actually its my dad's laptop which is giving the problem. Its kernel.dll file is corrupted. The laptop has Windows Me. I downloaded a kernel.dll file from www.dll-files.com but i don't know whether i should replace the original one with this one. So please help me out guys. I am sure its a piece of cake for most of you!!

make a copy of ur original dll file in some other folder. then check if the version/size of the downloaded dll is the same as ur existing one. if yes, go ahead and replace it.
Ahem .. Kernel.dll is actually Redlof virus's payload .. Its not a system file .. if its deleted its for good ... What error are you getting without it ..?
