Default Bios Update Questions

I have an asrock 775dual 915GL mobo . Updating the bios , i can choose b/w fixed an DVMT for graphics . Is it a wise option to update.

What other advantages do i get ? What is the risk factor ?
What will happen if the bios update fails ??

I think updating BIOS is a risky Buisness . If done wrong , it can make your motherboard useless . So plz search the forums for others advice .

Like no repairs can be made if bios goes wrong.
Please know that i'm planning on updating bios only b'coz it will give me options for DVMT or fixed mode.
So u suggest dont do it ??
What to do or how is erpair done if bios gets damaged ??
And i have asrock board so i dont think iflash is available for my board .though i'll see .
Thanks
But what about the repairs as i asked now ??

If BIOS update fails ....... YOUR MOBO WILL BE DEAD ....

don't worry.... solution is there ...... flash the bios with the .bak file [it will come with that update file].
